100 OF STRUGGLE. UKRAINIAN REVOLUTION IN 1917-1921

June 2, 2018

In 2014 the Scientific Library of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University received as a gift an invaluable private collection of books of Arkadii Zhukovskyi, who after his death bequeathed all his books and documents to the library of his small motherland – Bukovyna. We offer you a display where you can study the documents and books from the collection of A. Zhukovskyi. The presented materials reveal the development of the Ukrainian Revolution in 1917-1921 and its struggle for independence in the early XX. In the history of Ukraine the time period from March 1917 till March 1921 is a crucial point. This period is characterized as dramatic, contradicting and at the same time full of important political, social and economic events of national democratic revolution, civil war and foreign military intervention.

Most of the presented documents and books are unique as they were published abroad by the members of the Ukrainian Diaspora and were unavailable for mass readers.
