„ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERSPECTIVES OF COOPERATION WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE CONSORTIUM”

On 23-25 of November, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University hosted the annual meeting of the Consortium of Universities of the Republic of Moldova — Romania – Ukraine.

The key topic of the meeting was “Achievements and Perspectives of Cooperation of the Members of the Consortium”. On behalf of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, Stepan Melnychuk, Rector, delivered the opening speech in which he delineated the achievements of the Consortium and highlighted the future perspectives of the cooperation within the Consortium. Also Rectors and Vice-Rectors of the partner universities presented their reports on cooperation within the framework of the Consortium: prof. Gheorghe Ciocanu, Rector of Moldova State University (Kyshyniv, Republic of Moldova), Prof. Dr. Valentin Popa, Rector of Ştefan cel Mare University of Suceava (Romania), Prof. Dr. Ion Gagim, Rector of Alecu Russo State University of Bǎlţi (Republic of Moldova), Prof. Dr. Mihaela Onofrei, authorized signatory for the Rector, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iaşi (Romania), Prof. Dr. Doina Ciobotaru, George Enescu University of Arts, Iaşi (Romania), and Prof. Dr. Adrian Graur – honorary doctor of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.

Special attention of the meeting was paid to the international cooperation within the framework of the Consortium, which is reflected in the report topics of the members of the Consortium: George Enescu University of Arts, Iaşi – Bridges of Collaboration within the Framework of CUMRU (Prof. Dr. Doina Ciobotaru, Theatre Department Chair), «International Activities of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University” (Sergiy Lukanyuk, Head of International Office).

The report on the results achieved in the process of the universities’ cooperation drew the interest of the participants: «Cooperation of Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iaşi within the Framework of the Consortium: from Erasmus Mundus to Erasmus+» (Prof. Dr. Henri Luchian, Vice-Rector for International Relations), “Ştefan cel Mare University of Suceava: Cooperation Instruments with CUMRU partners” (Prof. Dr. Ştefan Purici, Vice-Rector for University Image, International Relations and European Development, “Achievements of Alecu Russo State University of  Bǎlţi and the Implemented Cooperation within the Framework of the Consortium” (Prof. Dr. Ion Gagim, Rector), presentation of the scientific publication “Penal Code of Alexandru Ioan Cuza” (Consul General of Romania Dr. Eleonora Moldovan, LL.D. Serhiy Nezhurbida, Assistant Prof. Dr. Felicia Vrânceanu, Prof. Nadiya Babych), «Presentation of the Results Achieved in 2017 within the Consortium” (Prof. Dr. Florentin Paladi, Vice-Rector for Research of Moldova State University), “The Experience in Organizing a Joint International Scientific Conference” (Prof. Dr. Nadiia Yesypenko, Head of the English Department), delivery of language certificates to the attendees of the Romanian language courses (Lecturer Gina Puicǎ and the Rectors of Chernivtsi and Suceava universities).

The meeting was held in a creative and constructive atmosphere. In view of the meeting results, the members of the Consortium signed the Meeting Minutes in which the parties came to the agreement to develop joint projects in the sphere of education, research, culture, arts, and students activity.

Prof. Dr. Valentin Popa, Rector of Ştefan cel Mare University of Suceava (Romania), was elected as Chairman of the Consortium. The next meeting of the Consortium of Universities of the Republic of Moldova — Romania – Ukraine will be held at Ştefan cel Mare University of Suceava in 2018.
