CENTER FOR INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES WILL BE ESTABLISHED IN CHERNIVTSI

On June 15, an agreement on cooperation was signed between Chernivtsi Regional State Administration  (Head of the Regional State Administration  Fyshchuk Oleksand) and Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University (Rector Melnychuk Stepan).

The agreement provides for the creation of the Center for Information and Communication Technologies.

From the regional budget 500 thousand UAH have been allocated on creation of this Center at the Institute of Physical, Technical and Computer Sciences of Chernivtsi National University. For a period of 5 years it is planned to allocate 1949.00 thousand UAH.

The establishment of the Centre will provide:

• Implementation of the image policy on promotion of innovative, social and economic development of Chernivtsi region on the Internet;
• Сreation of video studio for webinar, online presentations, meetings, internet conferences, online trainings, online courses and other forms of distance learning and regional activities;
• Creation and placement of a bank of innovations in the spheres of education and economy of Chernivtsi region, objects of cultural heritage of the region;
• Promoting the development of the Ukrainian segment of the global Internet through the development, support and semantic content of Ukrainian-language educational resources, encyclopaedic and vocabulary sources, information reference databases, popularization of the innovative potential of Chernivtsi region, etc.
