FRESHMEN INITIATION

On September 1, a solemn Academy on the occasion of the initiation of the first-year students of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University took place – the university which according to the number of applications submitted in 2019 took the 9th place among the institutions of higher education in Ukraine.

The solemn celebration began with the performance of the national anthem and a moment of silence for those who gave their lives to preserve Ukraine’s independence. According to the tradition established at the university, the freshmen laid flowers to the monuments of Taras Shevchenko, Yuriy Fedkovych, Kostiantyn Tomashchuk and Josef Hlavka.

Roman Petryshyn, Rector of Chernivtsi University and local government representativesofficially congratulated the future students. The Rector wished all first-year students to become good specialists, to master at least one of the foreign languages, to acquire knowledge of digital technologies and to be competitive.

The student choir “Resonance” has performed the anthem of the university.

Dear freshmen – never stop on the road of Knowledge, it is interesting and truly endless! Remember, your future depends on your present.
