PATRIARCH FILARET WAS AWARDED WITH A MANTLE AND DIPLOMA OF THE HONORARY DOCTOR OF CHERNIVTSI NATIONAL UNIVERSITY

On June 23 the ceremony of conferring the degree of the Honorary Doctor of Chernivtsi National University to the Patriarch of Kyiv and all Rus-Ukraine Filaret was held at Chernivtsi in the Red Hall of the University.

Rector of University Melnychuk Stepan presented the Patriarch a mantle and  diploma that confirm this title.

The Patriarch solemnly presented the diplomas of the educational qualification degree “Bachelor” and “Master” to graduates of the Department of Theology of Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. His Holiness Patriarch Filaret expressed the words of gratitude to the university.

The event was attended by Head of the Regional State Administration  Fyshchuk Oleksandr and his Deputies Pavliuk Mykhailo and Bohatyrets Ihor, members of the Academic Council of Chernivtsi National University, students.
