PEOPLE’S VECHE IN BUKOVYNA: ONE HUNDRED YEARS FROM IDEA TO IMPLEMENTATION

Today, the 1-st of November, the International Conference “People’s Victory in Bukovyna: One Hundred Years From Idea to Implementation” started its work in the Red Hall of Yuriy Fekovych Chernivtsi National University. The congratulations and wishes of the fruitful work to the conference participants were expressed by Vice-rector of the University Petro Fochuk, Head of Chernivtsi Regional State Administration Oleksandr Fischuk, Head of Chernivtsi Regional Council Ivan Muntian, Honorary Consul of Austria in Chernivtsi Serhiy Osachuk, and Head of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, Ambassador Eruturul Abakan

The People’s Assembly (Veche) in Bukovyna was a kind of plebiscite organized to support the idea of Ukrainian statehood and defend the national rights of the Ukrainian people.
