PROFESSOR YURIY MAKAR AND ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR VITALIY MAKAR’S PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP AT THE CANADIAN INSTITUTE OF UKRAINIAN STUDIES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ALBERTA
Chair of the Department of International Relations of the Faculty of History, Politology and International Relations professor Yuriy Makar and Associate Professor of this department Vitaliy Makar completed the professional internship programme in higher education at the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies of the University of Alberta.
During their internship they worked with research and methodical documents of the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies of the University of Alberta; had their meetings with scientists, students and postgraduate students; attended classes. Along with the above mentioned activities the trainees worked in the Ukrainian Canadian Archives and Museum of Alberta and in the archives of Alberta province.
In accordance to the order of the rectorate of Yuriy Fedcovych Chernivtsi National University, professor Yuriy Makar and Associate Professor Vitaliy Makar visited the University of Saskatchewan and renewed the agreement on collaboration that was signed 40 years ago. At the meeting which took place at the Office of International Relations some general terms of the agreement were specified. The parties agreed that next year an instructor of the University of Saskatchewan will read a series of lectures on Canadian National Power for the students of the Department of International Relations of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.
At the both universities the representatives of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University passed the last issues of their journal «Історико-політичні проблеми сучасного світу» (Modern Historical and Political Issues) to the members of the Editorial Boards – Doctor Paul Mirth and professor Bohdan Kordan. The terms of their articles submission for the next issues were settled.
