SUMMER SCHOOL FOR YOUNG JOURNALISTS
On August 9, the fourth Summer School for Young Journalists began organized jointly by Chernivtsi National University, the German NGO Interlink Academy and the Ukrainian NGO “Institute of Society and Communication”, started at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. The Rector of Chernivtsi National University, Roman Petryshyn, welcomed the participants and wished them productive studies. Olesia Zhuk introduced the participants into the local mediascape and told about the branch of the public broadcasting company in Chernivtsi.
24 participants of the Summer School for Young Journalists from Chernivtsi, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, Volyn, Kyiv, Vinnytsia and Lviv regions were selected from more than 80 applications. During the 10 days (August 9-18), students will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and skills in public journalism.
The Summer School for Young Journalists in Chernivtsi is rich in activities, especially the ones outside. The participants will have the opportunity to speak about the journalist standards, ethics, and interviews. The organizers bet the participants will know how to make good questions to their future interviewees.
The young journalists will also learn about good photo tips and go on a quest with Yaroslav Adamchuk to test their skills in photo taking.
The participants will become familiar with different video editing tools, the specifics of blogging, learn to develop critical thinking, create their own media projects, communicate with experts and even produce their own videos!
