Tetiana Brezhnieva: “NATO IS NOT AGAINST ENEMIES, NATO IS TO PREVENT AGGRESSION”
On Tuesday, February 20, in the Red Hall of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University the seminar “Ukraine – NATO: Security Formula” took place. The seminar was aimed at raising the awareness of the Ukrainian society about the integration of Ukraine into the Alliance.
First Vice-Deputy of the Head of Chernivtsi Regional State Administration Mykhailo Pavliuk stated: “It is crucial to provide insights and shatter stereotypes during the talks about “Ukraine – NATO”. As a representative of the executive branch of power I claim that we will take ultimate efforts to do that. Mr. Pavliuk also confirmed the fact that the Department of International Cooperation and European Integration will be formed at Chernivtsi Regional State Administration.
The people’s deputy of Ukraine Hryhoriy Timish pointed to the issues connected with cyber and information security. “We experience a sophisticated information attack from the aggressive enemy country”, – noted the people’s deputy.
Head of the permanent Rada delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Iryna Friz emphasized: “98% of the citizens of Chernivtsi support the Transatlantic integration”.
The participants of the seminar had an opportunity to watch “An Alliance for Freedom”, which is a kind of an excursus on the development and transformation of the Alliance.
After watching “An Alliance for Freedom”, head of the Center for Transatlantic Integration in Dnipro Tetiana Brezhnieva offered to discuss points about information security, army, advantages of NATO integration.
The key speakers summed up: “The future of Ukraine is not possible without integration with the Alliance. Ukraine must be and will become the Alliance’s partner”.
