THE PRESIDENT OF UKRAINE CONGRATULATED CHERNIVTSI UNIVERSITY

The President congratulated Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University on its 145th anniversary and presented state awards to professors.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi took part in a solemn meeting of the Academic Council of the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, which was held on the occasion of the 145th anniversary of the university.

In particular, he congratulated the university and presented state awards to professors. In addition, the Head of State promised that next year, as part of the continuation of the state program “Large Construction”, the university will be reconstructed and repaired.

Later, Volodymyr Zelenskyi awarded the Order of Merit of the 3rd degree to the Rector of Chernivtsi National University Roman Petryshyn.

Iryna Korotun, Head of the Department of Architecture and Preservation of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, was awarded with the honorary title of “Honored Architect of Ukraine”.

Head of the Department of Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology Roman Volkov, as well as Professor of the Department of Vocational and Technological Education and General Physics Oleksandr Shaiko-Shaikovskyi were awarded with the title of “Honored Workers of Science and Technology of Ukraine”.

The title of “Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine” was awarded to Professor of the Department of Foreign Literature, Theory of Literature and Slavic Philology – Petro Rykhlo.

The awards were presented for significant personal contribution to the development of national education, training of qualified specialists, scientific and pedagogical activity and high professionalism.
